Build your organization design capabilities with The Organization Design Practitioner Training Workshop Series, based on the new book by Greg Kesler and Amy Kates. Designed for mid‑ to senior‑level practitioners, business leaders, and HR partners, this program offers four, four‑hour sessions (two full days of content) that teach the operating model and organization design process used by leading companies around the world. Taught virtually by senior practitioners from Kates Consulting – with select modules led by Greg and Amy – the course blends practical tools, real examples, and hands‑on case exercises to help you diagnose organizations, design organizations at all layers, and guide leaders through the decisions that matter most.

Billy Carberry is a Principal at Kates Consulting and an organization design expert known for his practical judgment and systems view of complex organizational challenges. He began his consulting career as a Fellow at Kates Kesler (part of Accenture) and later as a Senior Manager in Accenture Strategy’s Operating Model & Organization Design practice. Billy contributes extensively to the field through writing, speaking, and teaching programs that extend modern organization design thinking. He previously held operations and supply chain leadership roles at Apple and United Technologies and lives in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Principal
Lorraine Damerau is an organization designer with over a decade of experience helping leaders navigate the intersection of strategy and organizational health. She brings an interdisciplinary, systems-thinking approach grounded in strategy, engineering, behavioral economics, and game theory, enabling collaborative diagnosis and capability building. Previously with Incandescent and a founding member of Accenture’s Operating Model & Organization Design practice, Lorraine has deep expertise in how thoughtfully designed and intentionally activated organizations enable strategic ambition. She holds degrees from London Business School, UCL, and Georgetown and is based in New York City.
Managing Partner
Jonathan Hornyak is a managing partner at Kates Consulting and a seasoned organization designer and executive coach with over 20 years of experience helping leaders reshape operating models for growth and efficiency. He has advised Global Fortune 500 and founder-led companies and teaches strategic HR at Cornell and NYU. Previously a Managing Director at Accenture and part of the Kates Kesler team, Jonathan holds a BA in Management Information Systems from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and is based in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Christie Irizarry is an organization design and operating model advisor with over 15 years of experience helping leaders translate strategy into action at speed and scale. She partners closely with executives to identify critical capabilities, clarify roles and accountabilities, design effective structures, and activate the connections and ways of working that drive performance and growth. Christie also delivers capability-building programs for business and HR leaders. She holds an MBA from Wharton and a BA from Rutgers and is based in Philadelphia.

Jackie Kates is a managing partner at Kates Consulting and an organization design expert who has led more than 50 enterprise redesigns across Fortune 50 companies and high-growth, private equity-backed startups. She specializes in multidimensional global operating models and helps founders anticipate and solve the predictable organizational challenges of scale. Jackie lectures on organization design at NYU, Cornell, and Brooklyn College. She holds a dual degree in Finance and Operations from The Wharton School and previously worked at Kates Kesler, Accenture, and Booz & Co.
